Republic of Maldives is a small nation that consists approximately 1,192 coral islands that form an archipelago of 26 major atolls built up from the crowns of a submerged ancient volcanic mountain range. All the islands are low-lying, none rising to more than 6 feet (1.8 metres) above sea level. Barrier reefs protect the islands from the destructive effects of monsoons. These give us a rare view of a paradise, whiter-than-white sand and luminous blue water. The official language in Maldives is Dhivehi also called Maldivian; English is also spoken. Islam is the state religion so the dress code is more modest on inhabited islands and in Malé, capital city. Whilst it is acceptable for men to wear T Shirts and shorts or swim shorts; female should avoid transparent cloths also wearing bikinis and swimwear unless on the bikini beaches, an un-inhabited island, picnic island, sandbank, dive boat or resort island. Should also be mentioned that alcoholic beverages are available only at tourist resorts. However day trip to the Resort is one of our excursions, check "Excursions" section.
The Island Dhiffushi is a part of Kaafu Atol, one of the administrative divisions of the Maldives and it's the most eastern inhabited island in all of Maldives.
